Free timecode and film tools

A quick answer.
A clear timebase.

Browser calculators for timecode, film, audio/picture relationships, storage and clock-drift estimates. Each tool keeps its assumptions beside the result.

Add or subtract signed timecode durations and convert between labels and frame counts. Choose the rate and DF/NDF mode, with physical playback seconds shown alongside the result.

Plan the shoot.
Check the timing.

From film requirements to label checks and hypothetical clock drift. Keep the assumptions with the answer.

Picture, sound
and storage.

Keep sample/frame relationships and media estimates explicit, from the chosen rates to the rounding and capacity assumptions.

Choose the calculation that matches the job.

A timecode label, a picture count and elapsed playback time describe different quantities. Use timecode arithmetic for durations in one format; use in/out subtraction for positions in a continuous source; use a conform comparison when every source picture will play at a new rate.

These tools calculate values. An edit, retime, transcode, cadence conversion or audio pull still needs the appropriate media application and delivery checks.
